Like Bénédict Vidal, Jean-François’s training was atypical and has become his trademark: he graduated from the HEC (France’s top business school) in 1986 and in 1989 decided to join Arthur Andersen International, at the legal and taxation arm of this giant of the auditing world. He stayed there for 3 years before joining and then heading the Paris Fiscal et Juridique firm.
Jean-François Veyry
Jean-François worked mainly with small and medium-sized businesses and soon diversified beyond personal and business taxation. He and his team of three lawyers deal with the different aspects of business law, in particular developing renowned expertise in financial investment, mergers and acquisitions, asset law, directors’ Management Packages and company law. More recently he has offered consultancy and litigation services in employment law, an area he is now developing with a dedicated associate.
His varied and dynamic clientele mainly consists of captains of industry, distribution, services, property, luxury hotels, the car industry, assets, IT…
What is Jean-François Veyry’s strongest point in the eyes of his clients? His willingness to help, his responsiveness and his skills as a negotiator: “Our clients expect us to be creative. When they are facing problems, they want solutions and they see us more as strategists, particularly at the negotiation stage.” They undoubtedly also appreciate his attitude to work-life balance and his conviction that it makes him work more effectively and makes him a better person to work with.
With the Carler “brand” he has the opportunity for cross-disciplinary collaboration that his longstanding, loyal clients particularly value: “Legal and taxation work means that we are in frequent contact with our clients, with whom we have a reciprocal relationship. Law firms of this size have a role to play because we are less expensive, more representative and better placed than many of our colleagues.” The cross-disciplinary approach offered by the Carler brand allows him to develop a comprehensive service offering that’s ideally suited to medium-sized companies.
