Sophie Haddad has been practising in the field of IT law, in particular software licensing, since the early 2000s. She joined Carler as a partner in 2011 to create the IT department, which she has been heading since then.
Sophie Haddad assists and advises several major software publishers as well as user companies in the negotiation of their IT contracts. She favours a pro-business approach in close collaboration with the legal, purchasing, sales and IT departments, providing them with a cross-functional vision of both IT issues and commercial relations strategy.
She is also a specialist in software compliance and audit issues. She has been working with some of the most important publishers in the market since the creation of the subject. She has assisted her clients in the creation of specialised departments in this area.
Sophie assists her clients in defining policies and processes for the protection of not only personal data but also strategic data (commercial, technical, etc.) that make up the company’s intangible assets. It favours an approach focused on both technical (PAS, PSSI, etc.) and legal (DPA, business secrecy, etc.) protection.
She regularly assists her clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters, particularly in emergency situations, and actively participates in the definition of a crisis exit strategy thanks to her experience in negotiation and her sharp command of litigation, particularly in emergency legal proceedings.
Sophie Haddad regularly writes articles in specialised legal journals (RLDI, Lexbase Edition affaires…).
